Act Dead or OOF Beach Update

On August 4, 2026 at 21:13 UTC, 79studios published the fourth place update of the summer window and renamed the experience again — from 💀Act Dead or OOF [SUMMER🔱] to [🏖️]💀Act Dead or OOF. The word SUMMER is gone from the title. The summer gamepasses are not. This page sets out exactly what changed, what did not, and why “the summer event is over” is a conclusion the data does not currently support.

Gamepasses still on sale

6 of 6

No pass removed or repriced

Timestamps, title text, description and vote counts read directly from Roblox’s public endpoints for universe 10375190446; gamepass prices from the store listing snapshot dated August 3, 2026. The day-by-day player series lives on the player count page.

The core contradiction

Why we are not calling the summer event over

When a Roblox developer strips a seasonal tag out of a title, the natural reading is that the season is finished. We expect most coverage of this rename to say exactly that, because the title is the easiest thing to check and it changed in an obvious way.

The problem is that the rest of the listing did not cooperate. A limited-time event winding down has a recognisable shape: the tools come off sale, or their prices drop, or their descriptions stop referencing the event. None of that happened here. Trident and Sea Knife are still purchasable, still at R$499 and R$259, and their official Roblox descriptions still say “Limited Time Tool for SUMMER EVENT” — the same words that were there when they went on sale on August 2.

So there are two pieces of official data pointing in opposite directions, and no patch notes to break the tie. The honest position is that we do not know, and neither does anyone else outside 79studios. If you are deciding whether to buy a limited-time pass before it disappears, that uncertainty is the actual answer — run the numbers on our gamepass value calculator rather than a countdown someone invented.

What we can confirm

The title changed for the second time

Confirmed

The Roblox listing name moved from "💀Act Dead or OOF [SUMMER🔱]" to "[🏖️]💀Act Dead or OOF". Three things changed at once: the word SUMMER was removed, the trident icon was swapped for a beach-umbrella icon, and the bracketed tag moved from the end of the title to the front. This is the second rename since the game launched on June 22, 2026 — the first was the [SUMMER🔱] tag added on August 1.

Five place updates have now shipped inside the window

Confirmed

The rename arrived with a fourth publish, stamped 2026-08-04T21:13:47Z, and a fifth followed at 2026-08-05T20:05:06Z. When we first wrote this page we noted the gaps had tightened at every step — 38 hours, then 21, then 11 hours and 17 minutes — and read that as active iteration. The fifth publish does not continue it: the gap widened back out to 22 hours and 51 minutes. The honest description is an irregular but sustained publishing rhythm, not an accelerating one. No patch notes accompany any of the five.

Every summer gamepass is still on sale

Confirmed

All six passes remain listed and purchasable. Critically, the official descriptions on the two event tools still read "Limited Time Tool for SUMMER EVENT" — unchanged text, unchanged sale status. The most recent price snapshot we have, from August 3, 2026, shows Trident R$499, x2 Permanent R$499, Sea Knife R$259, Scythe R$139, x2 Yen R$99 and x2 Vote R$67. Nothing in the beach rename removed a pass, changed a price, or added a new one.

The store description did not change

Confirmed

The game description is byte-for-byte identical to the text that was live before the rename — the same Hunter premise, the same four bullet lines about blending in, staying quiet, holding your cough and outlasting the Hunter. No new mode, map, or mechanic is mentioned anywhere in the listing.

The apparent player-metric bounce did not survive the full day

Corrected

Our first read of this window looked like a genuine turn: new unique players per day, measured by the game’s single 100%-win-rate badge, appeared to rebound from 82,327 to 120,434, and concurrency was averaging roughly 1,491 across August 5 against a finalised 1,246 for August 4. Both were partial-day figures. With the complete UTC day in, August 5 concurrency finalises at 1,207 — below August 4, not above it — and the badge reading falls back to 92,813, which is 3% under the 95,995 pre-update baseline. So the rename did not coincide with a measurable player-metric recovery after all. Lifetime totals reached 5,584,913 visits and 568,690 favorites by the morning of August 6, with votes at 11,701 likes to 2,784 dislikes for an 80.8% ratio that has barely moved all cycle.

What nobody can confirm yet

Whether the summer event has ended

Unknown

This is the question the rename raises and the one nobody can currently answer. The case that it ended is the title: seasonal tags usually come off when an event closes. The case that it has not is stronger on evidence — the limited-time tools are still on sale with their SUMMER EVENT wording intact, which is the opposite of what a wind-down normally looks like. A third possibility is that the event was simply rebranded from a trident theme to a beach theme. 79studios has announced nothing, so all three remain open.

What the beach icon signifies

Unknown

A beach-umbrella emoji is suggestive, but suggestive is not documentation. We will not reverse-engineer a content list out of an icon — that is exactly how invented feature lists start circulating. The previous trident tag at least had a matching item name (Sea Knife) to corroborate the water theme; this one currently has nothing to corroborate it.

What the fourth publish actually shipped

Unknown

No patch notes exist on the Roblox listing or on any 79studios channel we can find. Bug fixes, event toggles, map changes and cosmetic additions are all plausible; none are documented. The only confirmed facts are that a publish happened and when.

Whether the rename caused the player rebound

Unknown

The timing lines up, but so would a Roblox discovery or front-page placement, and those are invisible from outside. We had the same situation on August 4, when concurrency doubled after a publish while the equivalent hours the day before fell 18%. We record timing and hold back on causation.

Pattern

Four publishes, each one sooner than the last

The publish timeline inside this window is the one genuinely new piece of signal, because it is measurable without any patch notes at all. 79studios shipped the summer drop at 22:46 UTC on August 1, then published again at 12:43 UTC on August 3 (38 hours later), again at 09:56 UTC on August 4 (21 hours), and again at 21:13 UTC the same day (11 hours and 17 minutes).

A cadence that halves twice in three days is not what a studio closing out an event usually looks like. It is more consistent with active iteration — hotfixes, tuning, or staged content being switched on. That is a read on a pattern rather than a documented fact, and we flag it as such, but it is at least a read grounded in timestamps rather than in an emoji. The full running log is on the updates page.

What has not changed

  • Server size is still 10. Roblox place data still caps lobbies at ten players, so rounds remain one Hunter against up to nine mannequins. Sampling ten public servers after the rename showed three at 10/10, one at 9/10 and four at 8/10. The round structure is unpacked in the game wiki.
  • The core loop is identical. Freeze, stay quiet, hold your cough, outlast the Hunter. Nothing in the listing suggests the fundamentals moved. New players should still start with the beginner guide.
  • There are still no redeem codes. No redemption interface has ever shipped, and this update did not add one. Code lists for this game are invented; we maintain a debunk on the codes page.
  • The like ratio has not moved. 80.8% as of August 5, essentially flat through the run-up, the peak, the cooldown and now the rebound.

This is an unofficial fan page and is not affiliated with 79studios or Roblox Corporation. The update timestamp, title string, store description, server cap and vote counts are read directly from Roblox’s public endpoints for universe 10375190446; visit, favorite and concurrency figures come from timestamped snapshot history; gamepass prices and descriptions come from the store listing. Where 79studios has published nothing — the contents of the update and the meaning of the beach tag — we say so rather than filling the gap. Compare with our coverage of the earlier summer update.
