Act Dead or OOF Summer Update

On August 1, 2026 at 22:46 UTC, 79studios pushed an update and renamed the experience to 💀Act Dead or OOF [SUMMER🔱]. What followed was the biggest traffic day in the game’s short life — over 630,000 visits in 24 hours and a new verified concurrency peak of 5,784 players. What the studio has not done is publish patch notes. This page separates what is documented from what is guesswork, and gets updated as more surfaces. As of August 5, 2026 that [SUMMER🔱] tag is no longer in the title — it was replaced by a beach icon in a fourth place update, which we break down on the beach update page.

What we can confirm

The experience was renamed

Confirmed

The Roblox listing title changed from "💀Act Dead or OOF" to "💀Act Dead or OOF [SUMMER🔱]". Bracketed seasonal tags are the standard way Roblox developers signal a themed content drop, and the trident points at a water or beach theme. Updated August 5, 2026: the title changed again, to "[🏖️]💀Act Dead or OOF" — the word SUMMER and the trident are gone and a beach icon has moved to the front. That does not confirm the event ended; all six gamepasses are still on sale with their "Limited Time Tool for SUMMER EVENT" descriptions intact. See our beach update page for the full comparison.

The place was updated on August 1

Confirmed

Roblox stamps every published place with an update time. That field now reads 2026-08-01T22:46:21Z, replacing the previous July 30 stamp. Something was genuinely shipped — this is not just a cosmetic title edit.

A second place update landed on August 3

Confirmed

The place update stamp moved again at 2026-08-03T12:43:55Z, the first change since the August 1 drop and the second publish inside the summer window. As with the first, 79studios shipped no patch notes, the store description is unchanged and no gamepass price moved. It arrived while concurrency was drifting back toward its pre-event band; we can date the publish, but not claim a reason for its timing.

A third place update landed on August 4

Confirmed

The stamp moved once more to 2026-08-04T09:56:59Z, 21 hours after the August 3 publish and 38 hours after that one followed the original drop — the cadence is tightening. Again there are no patch notes, the name and store description are unchanged and no gamepass price moved. What differs from August 3 is the response: concurrency ran 676 at 07:09 UTC and 863 at 10:00, then 1,702 by 12:30 and 1,715 by 13:19, while over the same clock hours the day before it fell 18%. Hourly visit accrual roughly doubled alongside it. We can date the publish and describe what happened after it; we cannot attribute the movement to it.

Traffic broke every previous record

Confirmed

The 24 hours after the update added 630,333 visits and 83,582 favorites. The previous best day, August 1 itself, managed 183K and 22.6K. That is a roughly fourfold jump, and it maps cleanly onto the update timestamp.

The audience is new, not just returning

Confirmed

The game’s only badge, "Thanks for Playing! ☠️", is awarded at a 100% win rate, so its counter tracks distinct players. It logged 472,299 awards in one day against 95,995 the day before, and the running total reached 3,530,283 by the evening of August 4, 2026. Returning players do not earn a badge twice, so that spike was genuine new intake — roughly 1.3 million first-time players across the four days following the update. The daily series ran 472,299, then 360,357, 292,642, 196,030, 102,535 and 82,327 by the evening of August 4 — 14% below the 95,995 pre-update baseline, the first sub-baseline reading of the cycle. It then spiked to 120,434 on the morning of August 5 — 25% above baseline, which we initially read as a reversal — before falling back to 92,813 by the morning of August 6, 3% under baseline, with the running total at 3,684,748. Read across all three prints, intake has settled at roughly its pre-update level; the 120,434 reading looks like a one-day spike rather than a turn.

The rating held through the spike

Confirmed

Official vote data reads 11,701 likes to 2,784 dislikes as of the morning of August 6, 2026, a ratio of 80.8% — statistically flat against the 80.1% recorded before the update. The ratio has now held through the run-up, the peak and the full cooldown, which is a reasonable signal the new content was well received rather than merely well promoted.

What nobody can confirm yet

What the update actually adds

Unknown

79studios published no patch notes on the Roblox listing, and the store description is byte-for-byte identical to the pre-update text. New maps, cosmetics, mechanics, or modes are all plausible — none are documented.

What the summer tools actually do

Unknown

Sea Knife (R$259) and Trident (R$499) both went on sale on August 2, 2026, each described only as a "Limited Time Tool for SUMMER EVENT". That is the full extent of what 79studios has published: a name, a price, and a seasonal tag. No in-round effect, stat, or animation is documented for either, so any "what it does" list you see elsewhere is invented. We will document the effects the day the studio describes them.

Whether the update is time-limited

Unknown

Seasonal tags on Roblox are usually removed when the event ends, and the Sea Knife wording implies a window. But no end date has been announced anywhere, so any countdown you see on another site is invented.

Why the rename matters

Reading a Roblox title tag

Roblox search ranks partly on title text, so developers use bracketed tags — [SUMMER], [UPDATE], [NEW] — as both a marketing banner and an SEO lever inside the platform. When a game that has been running a stable title for six weeks suddenly adds a seasonal tag, it almost always means a content drop the studio wants new players to notice.

That is exactly the pattern here, and the numbers followed within hours. The trident emoji narrows the theme further: water, beach, or ocean. Combined with a pass literally named Sea Knife that went on sale on August 2 as a Limited Time Tool, the shape of the event is reasonably clear even though its contents are not. What we will not do is turn that inference into a feature list — see the glossary for how we treat officially worded terms versus community guesses.

What has not changed

  • Server size is still 10. Roblox place data caps lobbies at ten players, so rounds remain one Hunter against up to nine mannequins. Post-update sampling showed lobbies at 10/10 and 9/10 — fuller, not bigger. Mechanics are unpacked in the game wiki.
  • The four original purchasable gamepasses kept their prices. Scythe, x2 Yen, x2 Vote, and x2 Permanent held their prices and official descriptions through the update — the two summer tools (Sea Knife and Trident) are the only new monetization since launch, and both are explicitly time-limited.
  • There are still no redeem codes. The game has never shipped a code redemption interface, and the update did not add one. Lists circulating elsewhere are fabricated — we keep a running debunk on the codes page.
  • The core loop is identical. Freeze, stay quiet, hold your cough, outlast the Hunter. Nothing in the listing suggests the fundamentals moved.

This is an unofficial fan page. The update timestamp, title, description, server cap, and vote counts are read directly from Roblox’s public endpoints for universe 10375190446; visit, favorite, and concurrency deltas come from timestamped snapshot history; gamepass prices and descriptions come from the live store listing. Where 79studios has published nothing — the update contents, the Sea Knife’s effect, any end date — this page says so rather than filling the gap. Every entry above is dated so you can tell how stale it is.

Summer update questions

When did the Act Dead or OOF summer update come out?

Roblox records the place update at 22:46 UTC on August 1, 2026 — that is 6:46 PM ET, 3:46 PM PT, and 11:46 PM BST. The experience was renamed from "💀Act Dead or OOF" to "💀Act Dead or OOF [SUMMER🔱]" at the same time, which is the clearest public marker that a seasonal content drop went live.

What is in the Act Dead or OOF summer update?

79studios has not published patch notes, and the store description is word-for-word the same as before the update. That means nobody outside the studio can list the specific additions yet. What is documented: the seasonal rename, a trident emoji in the title pointing at a water or beach theme, and two new Limited Time Tools — Sea Knife (R$259) and Trident (R$499) — that went on sale on August 2, 2026 under a "Limited Time Tool for SUMMER EVENT" tag. 79studios has published no in-round effects for either, so any feature list you see elsewhere is guessing.

Is the Sea Knife available in the summer update?

Yes — as of August 2, 2026, Sea Knife is purchasable at R$259 (with a launch discount) on the Roblox store page. Its description reads "Limited Time Tool for SUMMER EVENT", confirming it as a seasonal purchase. A sixth gamepass, Trident, also went on sale the same day at R$499. Both are now part of the six purchasable passes; their in-round effects are still not described by 79studios.

How many players did the summer update bring in?

In the 24 hours after it shipped, Act Dead or OOF added 630,333 visits and 83,582 favorites, and concurrency ran between 1,567 and 5,784 players against a 700–1,400 band in late July. The single badge in the game was awarded to 472,299 new players in one day, up from 95,995 the day before — a near-fivefold jump in first-time players.

Did the summer update change the server size?

No. Roblox place data still sets the maximum at 10 players per server, so rounds remain one Hunter against up to nine mannequins. What did change is how full those servers are: sampling ten public lobbies after the update showed three at 10/10 and the remaining seven at 9/10.
